Youth Centered, Volunteer-Run & Collaborative Events
From the very start, events generated by community members and put on with the help of volunteers have been a mainstay of programing at the Civic.
These events are at the core of the Civic's mission and help reflect our community because they are created by our community. They include, the Old Time Junket, The Hardwick Skate Park Collective, Trivia at the diner, Stitcher's Circle, the Civilians softball team, and more.

The Civic also dreams up many of our own wild collaborative events, often supported by volunteer help. Check out the upcoming page for our next Honky Tonk Dance, living room concerts, or other celebration of our town.

Hardwick Skatepark Collective
What is the Hardwick Skatepark Collective?
The skatepark collective is a group that was formed for the sole purpose of getting a skatepark built in the town of Hardwick. After years of regular meetings and fundraising, the collective built a mini-ramp. But a permanent skate park is the dream!

It’s a small town but the spirit of skateboarding is strong! There are many younger kids (and adults) that skateboard as well as others that bike, roller skate and more. You may see that the only place people have to skateboard in the town of Hardwick are the streets, this is not only a nuisance to drivers on the road, but highly unsafe. Having a skatepark in Hardwick would keep the skateboard community off the streets.
