The Civic Radio Project
In our ongoing efforts to capture and share the oral history and existing culture of Hardwick, we partnered with WGDR, Central Vermont Community Radio to start "The Civic Radio Project." A new episode premieres on the second Saturday of every month at 9 a.m. Each one is full of interviews stories from old and new residents of Hardwick, snippets from Civic events and concerts, found sound, and anything else we can capture on tape.
Everyone and anyone is invited to become one of our "embedded reporters". Each month, we put out a few themes or assignments, and our reporters collect and send in audio contributions.
To get involved, reach out to maria@thecivicstandard.org.
Our current assignments:
-
Record yourself reading a list of your making. Don't reveal the title until the end.
-
Create a one-minute audio tour of a place you know well.
-
Record an interview with the oldest person you know.
-
Record an interview with a person much younger than yourself.
-
Create a three-minute clip that captures where you live.
-
Record a Hardwick story in no more than 10 sentences.
